Photography by...Rog Walker
Rog Walker's photography has a certain intensity to it. I can only compare it to the feeling of when someone who you take seriously tells you they need to have a talk with you. You go in feeling like your stomach is crawling up your throat and then when you finally hear what they have to say...it's great news. It's the greatest piece of news you've gotten in a while. You feel elated yet still sober. That's the intensity Rog Walker's photography makes me feel. His photos are also a good source of style inspiration. Some of the subject Rog captures in these photos are: Joshua and Travis of Street Etiquette, his wife-Bee Walker,and musician Jesse Boykins III.

I was walking towards the Foggy Bottom metro when I saw Giordano. At first I was drawn to his elegant vintage-looking scarf. It was such a refreshing sight on that cloudy Sunday. When I walked up to him to introduce myself I noticed his awesome boots (as you will soon learn I am a shoe fanatic). They looked perfectly worn in and I loved the shade of brown they had come to take. He was on his way to meet up with a date. If his outfit isn't a display for casual and cool on a Sunday afternoon date...I don't know what is.

"This is originally a floor length skirt from Anthropologie that I like to wear as a dress because it's fun. It's easy to just put it on and belt it. My platform sandals that I got from Salvation Army for a dollar (editor's note:awesome steal!)...I'm all about finding great deals."

Inspired By...NOMIA
NOMIA is the brainchild of NYC based fashion designer Yara Flinn. The brand has been around for five years and has attained a great deal of success. NOMIA embodies the laid-back, edgy yet classic New York girl that resides in all of us, regardless of our global location. In an interview with Garance, Yara described the NOMIA girl as:
"Confident in the sense that she doesn’t think too much about what she’s wearing but more about expressing herself. She has a mix of feminine and masculine, edgy but still classic at the same time."I definitely see how the pieces exemplify Yara's description. My favorite pieces are the Asymmetrical Wrap Dress (first row, last column) and the Washed Silk Shirt-dress (second row, first column). I would have loved to buy the Silk Shirt-dress for my formal but it's only available in size six--two sizes too big. Maybe I should just wing it and use a belt to keep it chic?

Photography By...André Supa

I became familiar with André Supa's work via Tumblr, his Tumblr to be more specific. His photographs are amazing and each one is distinct in its own way. My personal and recent favorite photograph of his is the side profile he did of Rapper A$AP Rocky. I just love how he took A$AP and molded him into an André Supa creation. In the picture he is no longer A$AP Rocky but "A$AP Rocky" by André Supa. I would describe Supa's photographs as minimalist and avant-garde. He really captures the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words," or in his case "a picture inspires a thousand expressions."
